Welcome!

Hi, I’m Dr. Gerri K. Connaught, Ph.D., LCSW, a New York-based licensed clinical social worker and the founder of Glimmers of Kindness & Care Wellness. I provide individual and couples therapy for adults seeking meaningful inner work, greater self-awareness, and deeper connection in their lives. I approach therapy as a collaborative and relational process - one in which you bring your lived experience and I serve as a thoughtful guide, offering insight, reflection, new tools, and support along the way.

I work best with clients who are open to reflection, growth, and actively engaging in the work together. Sessions unfold at a pace that feels supportive and intentional, providing a space for meaningful exploration, insight, and transformation.

This practice is inspired, in part, by the memory of my late brother, whose life continues to remind me of the power of small moments of kindness, care, and genuine connection. His memory informs the humanity, intentional presence, and warmth I bring to my work with clients.

How I Work:

Areas of Focus

  • Imposter Phenomenon and self-worth

  • Burnout and chronic stress

  • Racial trauma and identity-related stress

  • Identity exploration

  • Grief and loss

  • Interpersonal and relationship challenges

  • Couples therapy

“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” - James Baldwin

My work is heart- and soul-centered, strengths-based, and socially conscious. I practice from a liberation-oriented and culturally-affirming lens, recognizing how our identities, lived experiences, and the social systems we are embedded in shape our mental health and sense of self. Therapy and healing is approached collaboratively with curiosity, compassion, and deep respect for your dignity and agency.
